For the 2024 San Francisco Designer showcase, we partnered with Chantal Lamberto to build the “Culinary Calm” kitchen, including a full demo to the studs and rebuild.
A family kitchen taking inspiration from the classic details of a British Manor house. Culinary Calm is tucked under the roofline balancing a classic sense of style with an air of simplicity.

The skylight dramatically washes the space in light while the historic dormered windows give a sense of place. This expansive room is designed for: enjoying the art of cooking, gathering around the island with a cup of tea or glass of wine,chatting with kids as they eat breakfast, and finding the perfect midnight snack. A grand skylight is central to the layout and the generously scaled island anchors the design.
Shaker style cabinetry, vintage inspired lighting, custom decorative cabinet hardware, and 3cm soapstone countertops give a sense of grounded elegance to the design. The cabinets are a rich slate blue complemented by warm wood tones and soft lime washed walls. The beautiful historic windows look out on the tree lined garden below and if you get close enough, you may just glimpse the tips of the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.
